"Hands Across The Sand" Offshore Oil Drilling Protest February 13th. By Geniusofdespair

Hands Across The Sand is staging a protest on Saturday Feb. 13. I read three different times, show up before one. Surfrider says:

Join us to show your opposition to oil drilling as close as 3 miles off our coast. This movement is not about politics. It is about protection of our beach environment, our tourism, and our way of life.

Locations near here:
Intersection of Las Olas Blvd. and A1A
Windsurfer Beach, Rickenbacker Causeway Virginia Key

But the HAPPENING SPOT appears to be Miami Beach between the Jetty and 5th Street -- behind Nikki Beach at 12:30. They will have tents on the beach. Surfrider wants you to RSVP and you can get more info at this link. Also they want you to wear black to look like an oil slick. If you want to go, it is a good cause and you might have fun. No, you WILL have fun. Please pass our blog link on...

This is great! I think there are over 70 beaches hosting Hands events all across the state this Sat. I know Clean Water Action is having one on Deerfield Beach at the same time.
