TV Station CBS 4 has invaded Miami Herald & Sun Sentinel turf. By Geniusofdespair

CBS 4 is putting out a bimonthly newspaper. Let the turf war begin!

Hungry for anything to read on the treadmill, I grabbed a newspaper on the rack at Bally's and it was the new Channel 4 print advertising vehicle. the paper is called "The Adtimes." Only trouble is, the Miami Herald and Sun Sentinel are also hungry for that local ad money. Is Channel 4 going to divide the money with at least the Miami Herald as part of it's partnership deal?

The newspaper reprints I Team investigations previously aired (DeFede, Stock, Gillen, etc.) so it is not a total waste. I did read it cover-to-cover in 40 minutes on the treadmill. You can get it free at Winn Dixie, CVS, Sears, K Mart, Regal Cinema, etc. It is actually a good idea for Channel 4, they get more visibility, some ad money and they get a second shot to get their news and newscasters' faces out there. But come on, the mainstream newspapers have to be pissed. This isn't a Pennysaver, it has hard news in it. Some of it old news but does anyone care when bored and reading for free? I think they should supply Doctor's offices too, "I don't like to read germ ridden old magazines Channel 4!"

P.S. You can see by the ad content they are not after "New Times'" market.

Like there aren't enough unread newspapers already? Save the paper, we need the wood.

Save the paper, better news is on-line.
