The United States of Trailer Trash Dressers ... by gimleteye

I'm only partly kidding. The dress code battle-- except in certain private schools-- was lost long ago. I should know. One of my first acts of rebellion as a teenager was to take off a tie at school in violation of a dress code. The truth is I still don't like wearing ties. What conceivable purpose does a necktie serve? But there is a long distance between a knotted piece of fabric and what passes for acceptable dress in the public sphere. On airplanes, airports and other public spaces, we present ourselves as the nation of trailer trash dressers. Track suits by Adidas win the Oscar for American casual wear though 99 percent of its buyers couldn't run a mile if their lives depended on it. I would be happy if we could just ban plush velour in every comfortable, relaxing style by Juicy Couture. That would probably trigger a trade war with China. Anyhow, I noted this phenomenon in a post a month or so ago on the Magic City Casino. Today, the Herald reported out the story with a photo (it's number 3 in the sequence) that perfectly captures this morning's choleric reflux. I suppose if you are dumb enough to waste your money in slot machines, you earn the right to wear your birthday suit in public. You be the judge.

Yes, that was a great shot. Where do you think she will be going after?
