Best Invention: The IPhone. I know it wasn't invented in 2009 but I got one in 2009. The best thing I ever bought and I haven't even read the directions. (Not fun for writing blogs however)
Best New Habit: Texting (Now I don't have to talk to anyone anymore -- ever!)
Best Local News Stories: No quorum in the City of Miami and The Implosion of FPL's Public Relations.
Best Local Magazine: Proyecto
Best Local Politician: Katy Sorenson
Worst Local Politician: Natacha Seijas
Worst Non-Local Politician and Woman: Sarah Palin
Worst TV Show: Anything annoyingly reality especially the Biggest Loser, the one where they rebuild a house for a needy family and Dancing With the Non-Stars.

Biggest Con Man: Manny Diaz who leaves City of Miami with a massive pension plan for himself, for which he contributed zero, and a $150 Million deficit for new Mayor Tomas Regalado.

Not sure what Katy has successfully done. In fact, all she seems to do is cry when she gets passed over for Commission Chair. She is complicit with the County Manager in the inefficiencies at County Hall. She may be anti-development, UDB, etc. (and I think that' why you give her the nod), but she is part of the problem, not the solution at County Hall.
