The Miami Herald is giving Marco Rubio a lot of ink. Rubio says: "We are tired of apologizing for our principles." I loved one of his supporter's principles (Rubio should be apologizing for not nipping this in the bud - silent as the misguided throws his fellow Hispanics under the bus):
"He just makes us feel good,'' said Carolyn Pfeiffer, the 73-year-old treasurer of the women's club in Navarre. ``He makes us feel secure as Americans, with all these illegal aliens who want us to pay for their medicine. I have to pay for my own medicine."
Who is bankrolling Rubio's phobic-embracing campaign? Prominent Hispanics such as Sergio Pino, Gasten Cantens and Jose Fanjul. Also Rubio supporters are Congresswoman Ilena Ros-Lentinen's husband, Dexter Lentinen and State Rep. Erik Fresen.

Rubio calls himself a conservative. I have NO CLUE what that means, what he stands for. As far as I can tell, it is only political power.
This quotes exactly the kind of voter the Republican party lovess...and which leaves me scratching my head. How nice that this person can afford to pay for her medicine because left to the Republican party all and any social programs will be bankrupted. It is their goal to bankrupt the federal government and their last President nearly achieved it. The ignorant white vote is what Rubio is looking for and god help us if he wins. Shame on Ileana..shame shame shame.
That's exactly Rubio's strategy.
He knows the Hispanic community is a given, especially the Cuban community. Best of all he can be sure that the Cubans will remain either completely indifferent or oblivious to his extreme right pandering.
But he can’t win with the help of the Cubans alone. So how he is going to make in roads with the gringos up North? Well he knows a Hispanic moderate wouldn't stand a chance against the moderate-gringo Governor Crist. But a bible verse spewing, flag waving, 'save the country from the evil liberals and valueless moderates' surely can.
Luckily for him, he can be exactly this to the extreme right, while knowing that no matter what, the Cuban establishment will never let down one of their own.
...and if you think it's not working, take a look at the steady increase in his poll numbers.
