According to Miami Today, County Commissioner Natacha Seijas has proposed legislation, to be voted on tomorrow, halting annexations from the unincorporated areas into existing cities, until the economic crisis has passed. When exactly would that be, Natacha? And how would these annexations “Have the potential to diminish the ability of the County” to provide services to unincorporated areas?
Anyway, this is an assault not only on annexation, but on incorporation efforts as well. Wasn’t it a goal to get rid of unincorporated areas? Why are we now trying to bar these areas from annexation with a lame excuse? Change of heart or afraid of diminished power? Natacha: If you wanted to do something until the economic crisis has passed, how about disbanding your Jay Malina International Trade Consortium which would save us almost a million in salaries for your glorified travel agency? (see my earlier post).

Great photo of VNS. She's been messing around with Annexations and Incorporations for years. I find it ironic that her puppet "pepe" Diaz has numerous annexations pending in his district. Sweetwater and Doral are in a turf war over the Dolphin Mall. DeGrandy is the attorney for Sweetwater. Is she going to let Sweetwater go to a vote or just halt now? Homestead, ground zero of foreclosures in Miami Dade, as supported by Katy Edwards, was able to annex a whole bunch of piecemeal Ag parcels, also supported by Seijas! However, they wouldn't dare let Redland Incorporate? It's like Howdy Doody time at County Hall. What are the BCC, or certain members, thinking?
Has this "investment" yielded Miami anything from Africa? What about Seijas' trip to India: what did that yield?
Be careful what ya say about Homestead. Take a look at Councilwoman Nazy Sierra and her LBA connections as shown on her donor reports. I see a young VN in the making.
more sleaze...
Also Dolphin Mall should go to Doral, it's north of the Dolphin Expressway...
Less than 2 years ago, after meetings ad nauseum, the BCC decided they would let annexations go forward but keep the moritorium on incorporations. Now VNS wants to stop annexations too. There must be some area that wants to be annexed that pissed-off VNS. Everythig she does has an ulterior motive unrelated to the best interest of the county or the people.
When will we see the "vile one" do the perp walk?
Great foto.
The "vile one" will never do the perp walk. She is too close to Fernandez Rundle. How much money did the county spend, at the request of VNS, to investigate the people involved in her recall? That full blown investigation invloving thousands of hours of police time to "interview" committee members and people who signed the recall petition yielded a worker who, on his own, signed one petition page and a notary who certified circulator signatures that she did not witness. Not one invalid petition signature was counted. Not one of Seijas' targets (the leaders of the movement) was found guilty of anything. Regardless, Seijas raised enough of a stink, with the help of Rundle, that the BCC made future citizen's petitions impossible. Although seijas could not jail the leaders, she made damn sure there would never be another recall petition.
