Well, I was excited to see a new candidate running in the City of Miami till I googled him. Apparently David Chiverton showed up in the award winning Jason Grotto-Scott Hiaasen Exposé Poverty Peddlers as the director of the Martin Luther King Economic Development Corp. Geez Louise! Is everyone connected in Miami? I say that not in a good way. According the article:
The reporters questioned many expenses taxpayers (through grant money) foot the bill for at MLKEDC.
David Chiverton, the nonprofit's director, said the public events and celebrations "brought the community together and highlighted businesses along Seventh Avenue."
He said the trip to San Francisco was also in line with the MLKEDC's mandate. "It was a training opportunity to look at other successes from across the country and to familiarize ourselves with similar communities."
Another $75,000 from the trust went to pay a consultant with ties to County Commissioner Dorrin Rolle, who appointed the trust as the fiscal agent for county funds provided to the MLKEDC, records show. Rolle did not respond to e-mails and phone messages seeking comment.
James McQueen - Rolle's former chief of staff - and the MLKEDC entered into a $20,000-a-year consulting contract for the MLK Business Center project on Jan. 7, 2003 - the same day the trust passed its first MLKEDC resolution.
Two years later, Miami-Dade's auditor began raising questions about McQueen's contract after the auditor found the trust's files contained no work product or other documentation to show what McQueen had done for the money.

Check out his son on drums....you tube
To answer your rhetorical question GofD, yes they are all part of the web of deceit and corruption in our evolving kleptocracy. This guy Chiverton is shoveling money into his pockets right behind the Meeks, mother and son. As Kendrick steps up to take his shot at the Senate, the capos will fill in behind him.
Let's invite Sansom killer Willie Meggs to move south and dump the most useless State Attorney in Florida. We live in a cesspool in Miami-Dade and all Fernandez-Rundle can produce are cases against ministers (Rev. Gaston Smith, Friendship Missionary Baptist Church) and high school principals (Dwight Bernard, Northwestern).
Meggs would have brought down Sansom's mentor, Marco Rubio.
Sansom's mentor? I think it is the other way around. Who would follow Marco, only a lame brain.
So many criminals in Overtown and Liberty City. Too many people using politics and the taxpayers as their own personal piggy banks...
"Poverty Pimps"
A breath of fresh air. Good to see that someone who really cares about the district is actually entering the race. I hope the community wake up and stop falling for false hope. The time is now for a change.
Wow. Another crook.
