According to Florida News Service: "Local governments or people acting on their behalf will now be banned from spending public money on political ads advocating a vote for or against issues on the ballot."
Using local tax dollars for “Electioneering” communications is now illegal under Senate Bill 216, signed into law yesterday. Local Governments can spend money to do information brochures but no advocating. Does this mean the non-local government can still do it, like the State Government? Looks like local governments are now in the same position as a 501 C3 non profits. Welcome to the world of neutrality!
