They call it “Melt” the mic and they did. I went to see Nathan Andrew who performs his poetry, body and soul. He is a performance artist, not just a talented poet. I was fortunate to see many other poets including the smooth as silk C.E.O. Duke who launched into an erotic poem during his intro duties. Dixie Lounge is at 17060 West Dixie Highway in North Miami Beach, and the poets are there every Wednesday at 9ish. I also saw a Haitian Comedian doing a Haitian based routine. Do not show up early, you will be waiting a long time. It is a new startup (grand opening was May 13th) so give them some latitude and you will be rewarded (phone 786 975-7448). Happy hour is until 9. I got a Johnny Walker Red for $3.50.
