Following is the entire list of all the clients he has signed for 2009 to lobby the State of Florida Legislature (he also has 27 clients for which he lobbies in Miami Dade County, not included here) btw we have over 20 posts on Ron Book see index on right look under 'R' for Ron:

Wonder what he'd charge the Residents of Redland to lobby the
Dade County Board of Commissioners
in becoming an Agricultural city?
Maybe he'd do it pro bono and gain
tremendous popularity in South Dade
Redland Community. Then maybe we wouldn't have a net loss of agricultural land still remaining.
We'd be proud to give him a "crown"
like in the picture!

This could be the starting of a
stimulus food package for the Ag Community

Hey ICK is my word...

There is no way he can avoid conflicts of interest with a client list that extensive. Either he does not sleep or he has lots of bags of cash for the governing boards. He will misstep and take a tumble.

Ha Ha. I still want to be hired as his do-gooder. I am able to be such an angel. :)

If ick is your word, then ewwwwww will be mine. Do I have to copyright the number of w's? I don't blame anonymous for the ick usage, it is such an attractive word.

Ron's a really nice guy the fact that he was chaged with insurance fraud in the late 80s (he allegedly did 200 hrs of communnitty service for this),OR pled guilty to giving illegal campaign contributions in the 90s, reflects nothing on his penchant for treating elected officials like royalty (kissing lots of butt)or his ability to raise big dinero for them, that in my BOOK is the true mark of an honest and charitable man who looks after our interest in Tally, City and County hall. I personally sleep better at night knowing this.

We all know he kisses ass...what do you you think he makes. 75 clients at $10,000 each or would it be more like $50,000. What do lobbyists cost, does anyone know? What does the county and cities pay?

Anonymous said...

If I'm not mistaken Mr. Book gets mid 6 figures from Miami Dade County alone, kissing butt is lucrative I tell you and don't get me started un sucking up.

Ron got $50,000 from Pinecrest. For which they say, he was able to secure $1 million for water infrastructure.

Let's see $50,000 x 75 is $3,750,00.

Don't you ever tire of re-hashing the same old mistakes and criticism? I don't know Mr. Book, but I CAN read enough to know that he has done more for charitable causes and more pro bono legal work for the underprivileged than most of the rest of us put together. Seriously, give it a rest.

This is a post listing his clients. Is listing his clients troublesome for you? Aside from that: Because you do good deeds does not mean you escape scrutiny.

Ron Book has done a lot of questionable deeds, i.e. lobbying for both sides of an issue springs to mind.

But thanks for writing Ron.

Come on Genius Mr. "Anonymous" is right you should lay off Mr. Book since he does a lot of good things for our comunitty especially with tax dollars he's earned fighting against the interest of those pesky taxpayers.
Besides all that money has tax money has not just gone for good causes and lavishing our great leaders with gifts it has also prevented Mr. Book from continuing in his life of crime, effectively making our streets safer.

Ron Book agrees to stop lobbying for pretrial measure
A top lobbyist for Broward County agreed to stop trying to obtain passage of a bill that would cost the county millions of dollars.
BY DAN CHRISTENSEN
BrowardBulldog.org

Flagged by Broward officials for a conflict of interest, county lobbyist Ron Book has agreed to stop pushing for a new state law that county officials say would seriously undermine Broward's pretrial intervention program and cost local taxpayers millions.

The new law is being sought by another of Book's clients, the Florida bail bond industry. It would restrict access to county-run pretrial release programs by establishing new, statewide eligibility requirements for defendants seeking to get out of jail, forcing the county to spend more in keeping inmates behind bars.

County support for the pretrial program has wavered over the years; nevertheless, critics say Book should not be involved in representing the bail bond industry on the issue. Broward County pays Book $53,000 a year plus $2,000 in expenses to lobby in Tallahassee.

At Tuesday's commission meeting, Commissioner Lois Wexler said that, if passed, the law would ``decimate'' local pretrial release programs and place huge financial burdens on counties across the state.

Wexler added that she wants her money's worth from the lobbyist that many consider to be the most influential in Florida.

Broward commissioners passed an ordinance in January 2009 restricting access to the program run by the Broward Sheriff's Office. The proposed change in state law would further tighten the bondsmen's noose on the pretrial program.

``I guess the bail bond companies didn't get richer or increase their bottom line enough by what we did a year and a half ago, so now they're going in for the kill,'' Wexler said in an interview.

``This bill makes money the determination of justice,'' said Broward Public Defender Howard Finkelstein.

Book declared a ``potential conflict'' in a March 8 letter to the county after a county official told him the county opposed the pretrial measure. He asked the county to waive its conflict rules to ``allow me to continue my representation of the bail industry.''

Those rules recognize the potential for conflict of interest in dual representation, but only when the Legislature is in session as it is now.

Broward has yet to rule on that request, but the matter may now be moot.

On Friday, Book agreed to honor the demand of another client, Miami-Dade County, which decided it did not want Book lobbying on the pretrial detention issue.
