"Fresh Air" and the financial crisis ... by gimleteye

If you want to learn about the financial crisis that penetrates beyond the point-click-and-shoot version of the news, check out Terry Gross' PBS radio program, "Fresh Air". You can listen to it online, or better yet, download through ITunes. Yesterday's episode with Frank Partnoy is terrific. One of the high points: the roles of Wendy and former US Senator Phil Gramm ("America is a nation of whiners. We are in a mental recession."); formerly John McCain's top economic advisor. If you care how this mess unfolded, a big portion of it is right here and in other interviews on the show. Nearly every single question I've wanted to ask, she gets to. I'm still waiting, though, for some accounting of the true role of the builders associations, campaign contributions, local zoning councils and city and county commissions to be detailed as key accomplices in the fiasco.
