Foreclosure Bonanza in Miami Dade County. By Geniusofdespair

Total foreclosure filings for 2008 were 56,656. That is more than double the 2007 rate of 26,691. In one month, January 2009, the rate was almost double that of January 2008's total of 3,544.

If you add all the foreclosure filings for five years, from 2002 through 2006, the total of 53,432 is still less than the amount of foreclosure filings we had in just one single year, 2008. Mortgage Foreclosure Lis Pendens from Feb. 2 to the 22nd (20 days) total 4,529.

You think these numbers are bad, watch the tax rolls and how much money isn't there to fund county services. Want to bet we (in unincorporated Dade)notice greater police cuts than what the county will admit? Why? Because cities have contracts with minimum police staffing and that will require the movement of unincorporated officers into the cities to cover those contracts.

Coming to Jesus time is near. Oh, ye land whores, repent your ways!

(I can't believe I just said that.)
