Miami-Dade Mortgage Foreclosure Filings 2008: More Than Double 2007. By Geniusofdespair

The total mortgage foreclosure filings in 2008 in Miami Dade County, according to County records, is 56,530. That is more than 7 times the amount of filings in 2005. The good news is, I meant to say 'bad' news, they are going up not down. In January 2008 there were 3,544 and in December 2008 there were 5,582.

This reminds me of the letter I got from Commissioner Edmondson (which you posted) about her countywide view and reasons why the UDB needs to be expanded to accommodate all the 'burgeoning' growth in Dade County.

Would love to see developers of farmland be required to also develop "infill" parts of the county - there is alot of opportunity to build closer to established infrastrucutre - I mean geesh, parts of the "inner county" look like dead zones..raze some of the crap strip centers half abandoned and put up homes.
