County Commission Chair Moss reorganized the committees and assigned the membership. Look at the Chairs of the Committees. Payback time. Katy Sorenson is Chair over weasel Joe Martinez and Carlos Gimenez is over Vile Natacha Seijas. Egos are puddling. This is a major upheaval folks. Barreiro, Martinez, Seijas and Diaz are all without a Chairmanship. This is going to be a hard two years for them. Good! Rolle, Edmonson and Jordan are still powerful. Not so good. Glad to see Barriero, Martinez, Seijas and Diaz without a Chairmanship those commissioners should be voted out to begin with.
The less power they have the better.
I feel good about the budget and operations committees what with sorenson and gimenez. The transit and housing with jordan and edmonson has me a little worried though.
This is wonderful!!! Hopefully the new structure will result in better policy...
But, Genius, I would add that this is not a blow to "Hispanic" members, and I would caution against turning this into an ethnic battle. Don't make this an ethnic issue.. That just clouds and inflames, rather than enlighten. Make it an issue of governance, plain and simple, and go from there.
No, I think it is an ethnic issue: that is, within EyeonMiami parameters.
Let me explain: Gimleteye coined the phrase: Unreformable Majority:
Moss put on 3 Hispanics as chairs.
However out of the UNREFORMABLE MAJORITY all the blacks (Rolle, Edmonson and Jordan) had appointments and only one of the Hispanic members of the Unreformable Majority (Souto) got appointed.
So this is an ethnic slight within the confines of our BLOG definition.
Clearly, Moss was rewarding the people who voted him in as chair. But I choose to see it MY WAY, because the unreformable majority did not want him as chair...except Souto.
Our Unreformable Majority: Diaz, Martinez, Seijas, Barriero, Souto,
Edmonson, Jordan and Rolle.
I don't like Moss but he did get rid of Vile; she has no power now. He could have finished the job by sending Jordan and Edmonson to the trash heap too. But then he would not have had any base. Diaz, Martinez, Barreiro all weakened and Souto left with his Tropical Park. Moss did his best with not a lot to pick from.
