Two Men Cry. One is black, the other white. The Obama campaign brings then together. The Atlanta volunteer comes to Miami and stays with the other. One was born in New Orleans in 1962 the other in Detroit in 1949. Both have voted for Republican presidents, but not in the last 20 years. Both have graduated from mid western universities. One is a retired importer, the other an out or work health care consultant. One is gay and a gay rights activist, the other a mentor to several young men. (hit read more) One has health insurance on his wife’s policy, from whom he is separated. The other can’t afford health insurance in Florida. One hopes he can afford to send his daughter to college while the other speaks of his mother (who helped organize a union) working in a garment factory to put him and his brother through college. Both know discrimination, one more than the other. Both care about the environment and are working for hope with millions of other volunteers.
While listening to President Elect Obama, both weep for the same and different reasons. It doesn't matter. They share an experience which will out live both.
