Latin Builder's Association Awards Becker & Poliakoff Law Firm. By Geniusofdespair

I wonder how the Latin Builder's Association chooses the law firm of the year?

I can't imagine that all of LBA's membership is happy with Carlos Gimenez Jr.'s dad this year...or last year.

It is a way of saying thank you to Diaz de la Portilla, at any rate, for abandoning the principles of representing the public interest at all the zoning and permitting hearings where he is now loyal to the client-driven business of land development. Thanks, LBA, for all you've done for Miami over the years!

Also interesting to note that Commissioner Joe Martinez just named Becker and Poliakoff attorney Nelson Diaz to Community Council 11. The land-use specialist with ties to Marco Rubio fills the seat vacated by Miguel Cervera; Martinez has been quoted as saying that Diaz "knows how government works."

Becker and Poliakoff basically wrote the laws on Homeowner's and Condo association law. So, they are a natural match for the LBA.

Is that Carlos, Sr being honored? If not, I would less than thrilled that they left Jr. off my son's name.

You need to start paying more attention to the LBA. Check who they have on their Board. They have a lot of things up their sleeves. Quid pro quo is in full effect here.

I was there when Pollakoff started and he was honest. But when lots of money is involved anything can happen. This so called honor upsets me.
