VIDEO: "Hold The Line" Video. By Geniusofdespair
Parkland, the large sprawl "Development of Regional Impact" (DRI) that Lennar is a part of with Sergio Pino and Ed Easton, is still hovering out there and it is set to rear its head at the Community Council this Fall for approval (maybe late October). The mega-development, 7,000 homes - 21,000 people, is slated for land outside the Urban Development Boundary (UDB) in an area West of Tamiami Airport (in buffer lands to the Everglades). This video tells you why it is a bad idea and serves as a tutorial on Miami-Dade's over-development.
Here is a map of the area of Parkland, just where you want a new city:

This is a very good video, am forward the link to all my friends. Thanx.
It's 7,000 homes - not 700. Great video thanks for sharing!
I heard this development is less than two miles from the National Park! This is ridiculous.
Thanks for the correction alert Anonymous 2. It is also in the flight path of the airport. Have you ever lived beneath a flight path? OMG it is the worst quality of life.
Did we actually elect the people who think this a good idea?
This is the last thing our county needs to support right now. It will use tax dollars for creating new infrastructure, instead of fixing what we already have.
And it will make our traffic patterns worse!
I think everyone should call their commissioner on this and squash this now!
bush said that we have an excess of supply and that's what caused the economic meltdown. normally i wouldn't quote such an idiot...but in this case he might be right.
