I got this flyer in the mail (a panel from it above) asking me to not vote for Proposition 2. I decided to look into it and what I found was a great dad.

Jon Kislack embraces the true meaning of what it is to be a father. He has put $50,000 of his money toward defeating Proposition 2 on the ballot. He is one of “Florida Red & Blue” (the Political Action Committee trying to defeat this measure) biggest contributors. Kislack, a straight Republican, is fighting Amendment 2 for his daughter, who's a lesbian. Kislack said: "It's just not right that our laws, public policy, and social climate in Florida are so unwelcoming." Most Red & Blue PAC monetary supporters are individuals.

According to Miami New Times, the opposing side, “Florida4Marriage's” funds, are mostly from the Republican Party of Florida, which gave a whopping $300,000 of the total $492,969 "Florida4Marriage" has collected thus far.

The funny thing, I looked on line at both sides and could not find the actual text of the proposition. Still, I am voting “No” because (1) this is a really hurtful, manipulative proposition being used by Republicans to rally the Christian Right to the polls to benefit the Presidential Election, and (2) I also like to see unconditional love: thanks Jon Kislack. Dick Cheney should be taking his cues from you.
