I have traveled up the East Coast and I am now in New York. I stopped for two days in Washington. I saw very few bumper stickers for either party on the road. In Washington I saw two McCain T Shirts on people, no Obama shirts. There was one guy selling Obama hats.
What is with this election? This isn't the way it was for the past two. What has changed?

where have all the flowers gone? Long time passing.
I have noticed the same thing. I remember back in 2004 when every neighbor of mine had a Kerry/Edwards yard sign.
This is a bad sign for Obama because traditionally most supporters of the Republican ticket do not advertise their support.
I remember my good friend in the San Franscisco Bay area who had a bumper sticker that said "My gun has killed less people than Ted Kennedy". He had to spend a day in Berkeley signing some real estate papers. Upon returning to his car from the RE office, he found it keyed numerous times and covered with spit balls on the door handles.
This is why Republicans do not advertise their allegiance. They no longer believe in Freedon of Expression!
I have seen 10 Obama for every McCain in Miami-Dade, but yeah, definitely down overall. I'm a huge Obama supporter, but I don't put bumper stickers on my truck.

I'm not sure about that, I remember as many Bush stickers as Gore/Kerry. And those were close elections.
When the bumper stickers are stuck on with magnetic stickers I will consider it. I don't stick anything to car windows or my car's paint job.
That is a good point about the possible car damage. I had not thought about that. :(
T shirts --buttons-- hats-- nada along the east coast. g.o.d.
I haven't seen a single McCain bumper sticker. Ever.
And I spend 2-3 hours a day commuting to and from work!
I also think that the lack of bumper stickers is another side effect of the Bush regime-no one is comfortable speaking their mind anymore for fear of reprisal-whether it be by way of bumper stickers or in conversation. However,I was surprised to be engaged in a conversation with a coworker today who is a die-hard repugnican(even though she has no clue about most issues).Even she agreed that Sarah seems to be a religious fanatic and that just can't be good. She used to be a McCain fan but now I'm not so sure-most likely she just won't vote.
We did however come together and share the SNL Sarah skit with another coworker. We all agreed that it was superb.
Here's hoping that the media does actually "grow a pair". :-)
