Cindy McCain is my Pick. By Geniusofdespair

In a cover article in the Tropical section of the Miami Herald fashion experts weigh in on the style of the future first lady wannabes. The columnist, Kathryn Wexler says:

“We scrutinize the styles of Michelle Obama and Cindy McCain like they're windows into the soul.”

Hmmm. That being said, I will totally ignore it.

Most of the experts leaned towards Cindy and so do I. A fashion professor at the Fort Lauderdale Art Institute said that Michele should get a stylist and I totally agree. She should stop wearing pins for starters. The only person in my family who wore a pin was my grandmother.

So, to the roving band of conservative bloggers who have gravitated to this site: score one for the Republicans.

The more dificult choice is who is more "firstlady like"?

One has an Ivy League acedemic record, a top notch professional record, and is a mother of two. Not Bad.

The other, despite significant family wealth, decided to be a teacher, personally went into the worst reaches of Africa to help the less fortunate, and adopted a medically needy daughter from one of Mother Theresa's orphanages.

Nod to Cindy McCain, but either one will make a top notch firstlady.

First Lady Like: We are not talking about character here. This is a fashion column.

Who dresses more like the designer draped Jackie O and Nancy Reagan? Cindy

Who dresses like the Frumpy , Barbara Bush (1), Rosalynn Carter and Eleanor Roosevelt?
Michelle

They are both first lady like dressers because we have had both kinds of first ladies. And I will bet Eleanor Roosevelt wore a shitload of pins.

Fashion hey? How about something as deep as who I'd rather have sex with. Nod to Michelle! Maybe Cindy would have taken that a few decades ago.

The whole thing is dumb, dumb, dumb. Neither will be running the Country.
It only takes money and the desire to have a personal designer to be of interest to people who only look at the outside.

Mensa: If the Herald can be fluffy why can't we? At least we aren't calling our silly fashion column "windows into their souls."

Let's make it local. Why don't any of our female County Commissioners have a stitch of fashion sense?

Katy Sorenson has fashion sense and so does Kristen Jacobs. Lori Parrish, on the other hand, brags about not wearing a bra...
Ouch!

Marta Perez looks pretty good in her choices...

Forgive me, but can I express what most of use who read this thread are thinking?

Since when is the Herald's fluffiness something to emulate? Y'all need to get laid.

So if we are fluffy as a paraody we need to get laid?

Does anyone have a sense of humor...

And your logic is waaay off.

Come on! That was a sense of humor! Further proof of my point! Heck I even put a little pun on this subject in the new Palin thread.

Sorry didn't get it...maybe because I need to get laid.

To have real style, you must own it. To be a style Icon, you must invent it. I like both women, but there is so much more to these people than fashion. Oh, please.
