How did Multi-Billionaire Paul Tudor Jones, II Get Involved with the Everglades? By Geniusofdespair

Read the Miami Herald article Environmental elites are a force behind Glades.

This article chronicles a pretty interesting turn of events. It proves one thing: Republican rich guys take their fishing seriously, so don’t mess with their leisure activities because it really can snowball — in this case to our benefit. Thanks for the Everglades funding Paul.

The Herald said:

"Jones, a hedge-fund manager who lives in Greenwich, Conn., and owns an Islamorada vacation home, has easily poured $20 million-plus into the foundation himself -- $11 million alone on a bruising but losing 1996 drive to pass a penny-a-pound pollution tax on sugar growers.

Three weeks before Crist's election, Jones gave $400,000 to the Florida Republican Party -- the largest individual donation in at least a decade."

I thought Crist was a better Governor than Jeb when he started appointing professionals like Shannon Estenoz to the District Governing Board. Turns out he's as bad as Jeb and a lot more expensive -- all it took was a $400,000 bribe to get her there.

don't think that the 400,000 was a bribe. Crist also put on Buermann, Dauray as a couple of other good choices -- Melissa Meeker not sure... i always liked her but haven't been following her votes.
