Buried in Thursday’s Miami Herald: Cancer Researcher Warns of Cell Phone Usage. By Geniusofdespair

The Herald reported in a buried blurb:
“The head of a prominent cancer research institute issued an unprecedented warning to his faculty and staff Wednesday: Limit cell phone use because of the possible risk of cancer.”

Read the LONG article by hitting the link above. Dr. Ronald B. Herberman, director of the University of Pittsburgh Cancer Institute wrote:

...it takes too long to get answers from science” and “...children should use cell phones only for emergencies because their brains are still developing.”

“He even warns against using cell phones in public places like a bus because it exposes others to the phone's electromagnetic field.” Finally, he wrote:

"Although the evidence is still controversial, I am convinced that there are sufficient data to warrant issuing an advisory to share some precautionary advice on cell phone use."

Lobbyists: Are you listening? Unglue those cell phones from your heads!

Please do not tell the lobbyists to stop the cell phone use. It may the best thing that could happen for our democracy.

I'd like to see more conclusive evidence, but maybe that's because I went completely wireless sometime back.

I'm hoping that the cellphone cancer scare turns out to be another Red Herring, like the saccharine scare of the 60s and 70s.

However, it might be wise to hedge by using a simple headset with the thing.
