Starting Now: An Advice Column. By Geniusofdespair

I have decided to start an advice column. Since I have experienced so many hard knocks, maybe I can save you the trouble.

Don't spill water on your computer keyboard.

Losing any key will render a keyboard useless. I know this because I have had to buy 4 keyboards because of liquid intrusion. I now keep an extra one in the house. I spilled a few drops this morning and the space bar stopped working. I did a save once by immediately turning the keyboard upside down to let it drain. I wasn't so smart this morning, I thought it was only a few drops.

My Advice: Stop being such whinning frickin' do nothings. You're agenda is so ultraliberal socialist. Every time gimleteye churns out another "Republican Capitalist Pigs" ruined the earth thread, I throw up a little in my mouth.

Maybe the conservatives are sick of giving the government their money, only to watch it be wasted.

Then how come they waste so much?

Perhaps you don't understand the dynamics of an advice column: I give it, not you.

Get off my post with gimleteye complaints. Complain on a Gimleteye post...and don't call me a do nothing...I was a good consumer this morning: I spent $50 for a new keyboard. So I helped fund the economy to pay for your war (read the curse of Lawrence of Arabia, it is not my war I believe in the curse). Did you spend money this morning? Go to church or something and repent for being disagreeable and not jumpstarting the economy with shopping.

There are many blogs where you will feel at home -- I suggest you find one.

M is not a moderate. Facts: republicans controlled congress from 1994 to 2006, the white house the last 28 years except for 8 years under Clinton. Blaming ultra liberal thinking for the ills of our county is not accurate. There are many imperfections with the political system we live under. Instead of looking for solutions based on the common good and science, spin and twisted logic got us to where we are today. Part of the problem is your us vs. them philosophy. The idea that everything is black and white is an illusion. Every action or non action has consequences, some unintended. The sooner people learn to work together, the better off we will all be.

Dear Genius,

What do I do if I spill nail polish on my key board?

Please help me.

i can fix this -- i just know it. Get a bunch of q tips. soak them in acetone/nail polish remover. hold the keyboard upside down in front of you and wipe at it. you might lose the key lettering ---test it on an F key. If it is a lot of nail polish...You can take off the keys and soak them in acetone....or just dip them and then just rub them with a tissue.

I am assuming the nail polish is dry by now.

Let me know if this helps. Maybe this blog should turn into an advice column, it is easier.
