On The Urban Development Boundary: You Don't Really Believe Audrey Edmonson Do You? By Geniusofdespair

A kind reader forwarded to us Audrey Edmonson's letter that she sent to constituents regarding why she agreed to move the Urban Development Boundary. It speaks for itself. Like we believe for a minute she isn't a puppet of the Vile Natacha's machine.

Disrict 3: When you don't get that North South Rail, be sure to thank Audrey for sprawling out West instead of revitalizing the urban center. And thank her for making sure that people have more stores out West...that is just such a necessity-- as it says in her letter. And, the school, Audrey you know the School Board has no money to fund it, they have to cut over $284 million from their budget for existing schools. You also know moving the line isn't in the best interest of the rest of the County as you said. Why? Because your professional Planning Dept. analyzed it and said so and so did the State Department of Community Affairs. Both entities know it is not a permanent boundary line: But they have a timetable and standards for its movement and the time is NOT now and the standards have NOT been met. You know that Audrey.

Why do you lie to your constituents, do you think they are stupid? I guess so. (Hit on letter to enlarge it...I added an appropriate photo to the letter.)

Looks like she couldn't even sign the letter herself and had staff stamp it!!

She probably had to stamp it because there are so many letters from her residents.

It is also obvious that she didn't listen to staff since her letter is full of distortions.

The County and the State both said that the amendments were beyond the water permit that the county got and WOULD affect water supply. What the LOBBYIST said is that it did not matter where they built as long as they were under the permit cap. That means that every project is competing for the same water. When it comes time for someone to build affordable housing or a Lowes in her district, known for it's great abundance of first rate retail, they will be competing for the water that will now be used out west.

The school board was clear that they were adding capacity for the area schools and that enrollment was trending downward.

The road in west kendall could be built by the county. The irony is that they need to build the road because the Commission moved the line back in 1993 against staff's recommendation.

"I did so knowing that it might not be popular, but I did so believing that it was the right thing to do for all of the citizens of Miami-Dade County".

Lowes thanks her for taking a principled stand against the tyranny of the facts and the needs of her constituents.

The tyranny of the facts ....good one. All good comments...

School enrollment is declining in just about every district, and out west-- it is declining where foreclosures are hitting hard, and cost of living is forcing residents out. Edmunson is a disaster. She will be beaten by Val, who needs to emphasize the corruption inherent in adopting false arguments that deprive her constituents of county resources.

Ms. Edmundson is not a follower of
Natacha's machine. She is the puppet and public persona of the Carey Schuler Machine.

Val Screen can make good use of this letter in her campaign against Edmonson. Val, point out the lies and inconsistencies and make her look like the dup she is!

Ms Edmonson (two "o's) is not following the Carey Schuler mold. Barbara didn't vote to move the line. When Audrey got in power, she immediately fired Oscar Braynon, Carey Schuler's chief of staff as they differed too much of the time. Ever since Edmonson went on vacation with Natacha to India -- at our expense -- she has been firmly in the Seijas camp.

I attended Braddock back in the 1990's and remembered that the enrollment was around 5,000 then but also know that with the construction of Ferguson High School and Varella, that number has gone down drastically.

In reading the letter, I decided to check the Miami Dade Schools website at http://www2.dadeschools.net/schools/schoolinformation/school_details.asp?id=7051 and discovered that Braddock's enrollment is 3,678 right now. While that is almost 1,000 more than the school was originally constructed to handle, that number is well within the overcrowding numbers for the county school district.

It is very disheartening to see county commissioners making decisions based on false information.

thank you Steven for the numbers...

Thanks for posting the letter. I'm seriously thinking about volunteering for Val Screen as a result of the things I've read on this blog.

EYE ON MIAMI: THIS IS HOW YOU GET THESE INCUMBENTS OUT OF OFFICE THIS AUG 26 . . .

YOU WRITE A BLOG OR ARTICLE CALLING FOR ALL THE NEW CANDIDATES TO HOLD A MEETING IN PERSON. AT THIS MEETING THEY CAN ALL HELP EACHOTHER WITH EACHOTHERS RESOURCES. THEY EACH CAN OFFER MUCH MORE THAN JUST SUPPORT TO THE NEXT CANDIDATE.

A COALITION WILL BE FORMED AND THEN THE MIAMI HERALD WILL FOLLOW.
THIS "TEAM" WILL BE MUCH MORE SUCCESFUL AS A TEAM THAN A SINGLE NEW CANDIDATE.

DO THIS AND INCUMBENTS WILL FALL.
FIND OUT WHICH OF THE CANDIDATES ARE WILLING...
