Crist misses his chance, by gimleteye

Does Governor Charlie Crist know that Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Chairman Rodney Barreto is a land speculator and now prospective rock miner on property outside the Urban Development Boundary? Now he does.

I wouldn't want to be photographed near Rodney Barreto if I were looking for a higher office.

Rodney and his gang of rock miners stacked the citizens advisory committee and voted to 4 lane Krome Avenue all the while owning property along the road. Then FDOT mysteriously decided they had to put in a traffic signal and seriously widen an intersection at another of his projects outside the UDB. It's more than a coincidence that state roads follow Rodney and his pals. When will Crist see the light about Rodney? Crist, Rodney is a developer and he ain't no environmentalist. Dress him up in silk and he is still a pig. Why does Crist give him a platform to pretend he is doing something good, like rehabilitating turtles? Reminds me of the guy who sits on the board of some boys club while being a pedophile.

I feel bad for the turtle...did they really have to free it by tossing it off the side of a boat? Could they not place the thing in the water? It looks pretty pissed...

I think Crist is doing a good job but I wish he would can Barreto. Anyone who reads the local section for a reasonable amount of time would know he's a crook.

The most money-hungry of the money-hungry. Seriously.
