Will the Miami Dade County Commission override the veto this morning? By Geniusofdespair

The Miami Dade County Commission is voting this morning on whether or not to override the Mayoral vetoes on the two applications to move the UDB. Good article in The SunPost: SNORKELING AT LOWE’S. It tells you what will happen if they vote to override.

I believe they will override, but miracles do...yeah, right. I hope they prove me wrong.

The good part: last time the Commissioners didn't talk, they just voted. It should be quick.

There's a better chance of Eye on Miami becoming crusaders for nuclear power than for the BCC (bunch of county crooks) to override the veto...

By the way, what was the point of that press conference yesterday on the Orange line? Maybe the Commissioners are reading EOM and wanted to assure everyone there was no relation between the two issues??

Edmonson reminds me of a Beatles song "She's got a ticket to (over)ride, but she dont care"...

We had hopes for you Audrey, it didnt take long for you to join the dark side though.

Oh, and Rebecca, you know that dillusional plan to run for mayor in 4 years. You can pretty much forget it...not that there was ever a chance in hell you could appeal to anyone outside your area...

The discussion has started, the Mayor is speaking now..

Correction, Override!!!

Sorenson, Heyman, Moss and Gimenez voted against overriding veto, the rest stayed firm except for Souto who was absent.

This could be the end for one of the UDB voters, Edmonson. I have heard rumors that a prominent local businessman, who is in activist in many ways, especially recently, has had enough, and is seriously considering supporting Val Screen against Edmonson. I am not at liberty to disclose his name, but, I'm sure you all will be able to guess. This might be an interesting local election cycle afterall!!!

Good bye Edmunson. You're done. And good riddance.

This is basically your county commission telling taxpayers: sue us and we'll spend your money in court against you.

PARDON MY IGNORANCE ON THIS ISSUE, BUT WHAT EXACTLY WILL HAPPEN NOW THAT THEY HAVE VETOED THIS?

IM NOT "GREEN" NOR AM I A "TREE-HUGGER" IN ANY WAY SHAPE OR FORM, BUT WHEN WILL THEY REALIZE ENOUGH IS ENOUGH?

Not a tree hugger... they were over riding a veto...that the mayor did.

read the article I linked to..it goes into next steps.

First commentor: What the hell are you talking about?
What orange line?

I am not the first commentor, but, the Orange Line is the much discussed north-south connector to the Metro-Rail station that has been the focus of the african-american community in the areas where the Line is supposed to traverse (Essentially, up 27th avenue, and down to the MIC at the Airport, connecting with the other metro-rail lines. I think the first commentor seems to imply that Audrey voted with the majority on the UDB to receive help on the metro-rail line that at this point, has no federal funding. Meek Jr., is involved in that situation.
