Lady left out important fact about herself in her letter to the Herald (saying move the UDB line). By Geniusofdespair

See my earlier column which is coincidentally a good answer to the lady who wrote the myopic letter to the editor - in the Herald Today. Here is her letter, read my column too which is a broader view of the issue (be fair) and to be EXTRA fair, she did NOT say in the letter that she was on the Community Council that VOTED on this project:
Myopic Lady's letter: Hundreds of people attended last week's Miami-Dade County Commission meeting in support of moving the Urban Development Boundary and proposed projects. In addition, there were 6,000 signatures on a petition. Thankfully, commissioners heard and responded to the residents.

The Kendall application is filling-in a small notch between the 1,200-unit Vizcaya development and Kendall Drive. It provides a new four-lane roadway to eliminate traffic on neighborhood roads. This road, according to the fire department, is critical in responding to emergencies in those neighborhoods.

This site is in the Master Plan Urban Expansion Area. In other words, the county had already planned to allow development here. Staff at the meeting said that water supply and traffic are not an issue. There is a real need for commercial uses near the homes in this area. There are no marshes, wetlands or intrusion on the Everglades. The unquestioning worship of ''the line'' is foolish. There is nothing sacred about its present configuration, and we should be able to make reasonable adjustments from time to time to correct past errors or obvious flaws in its alignment, without the rancor or overblown rhetoric found repeatedly in The Miami Herald.
PATRICIA SHANNEN DAVIS, West Kendall

ACCORDING TO THE WEST KENDALL GAZETTE - April 10, 2007:
Patricia “Shannen” Davis filed for the seat and was elected unopposed to What is now the first and only Council 11 “district-wide” elective Seat.

She's probably a realtor or aspiring to be one, or maybe, she's in the road paving business.

I would guess that being on the community council may have left her open to being seen by a lobbyist.

She also conveniently neglected to mention that the Fire Department also said that the Brown application would strain fire services beyond capacity. The road would help them get to calls a bit faster, but it would only matter if they had a crew available. They said they may not and have no funds to provide additional fire protection out there.

Further, Ms. Davis inappropriately gave the impression that staff supported this application, which they most certainly did not. Neither the County planning staff nor any agency of the State approved either "reasonable adjustment" because they were unnecessary and violated state law.

She also forgot to mention that she lives in the neighborhood immediately south of the Brown application.

Of course she has contempt for the UDB. She is living right next to it with all those pesky farmers right next door.

Anonymous above:

Don't KNOCK those pesky farmers whether she says it or you do, They provide food for your table and they were there long before she or you were there. Don't forget farm land provides recharge from rain for the aquafier. NO, OUR LOCAL FARMERS DON'T POLUTE THE LAND WITH fertilizers. The stuff
we use is compatible with our soils. Housetops are a nuisance to
our farm fields.

The person above was being sarcastic, they are not knocking farmers.

Read it again.

They are saying the damn woman who wrote the annoying letter was hating the farmers.

Davis is a social worker. Just FYI

Is her husband a lobbyist? I thought I heard that. The President of Country Walk works for David Brown. Country Walk HOA makes takes some strange positions, but with a President who works for a developer, anything goes.
