It looks like vile Miami Dade County Commissioner Natacha may have embellished her rants about the people involved in her recall petition.
She often proclaimed from her perch on the dais that the petitioners were criminals, did all manner of horrible things and were going to jail. Her claims were parroted by Joe Martinez.
Thursday’s Miami Herald reported that one notary pleaded guilty to 9 misdemeanor counts for notarizing circulator signatures that she did not witness. According to the Herald story, the notary will serve one year of probation and apologized in court. Despite Vile’s angry accusations, the Herald reported, “An investigation into the petition effort did not find any widespread evidence of fraud or forgery.”
Which leads me to two questions: How much did this Seijas-initiated investigation cost the tax payers and how do the people involved in the petitions get their reputations back? Actually, I have another question. What recourse do the petitioners have against Seijas or is it OK to lie if you are a commissioner? Will Seijas issue a public apology to the recall committee?

The two of them accusing others of their own misdeeds would be funny if it were not so serious.
And what about John Rivera, President of the Police Benevolent Association, passing fliers in Seijas' district warning people not to open their door to members of the committee because we might rob their identity? And the Hialeah Police Department's intimidation of the signature gatherers? Would our State Attorney be as efficient in her investigation of the notary if we file a complaint against the individuals that acted as Seijas' repressive personal police? We should file suit for defamation of character, but then again, Seijas will defend herself using the County attorneys that serve the commissioners so well, at our expense giving the commissioners an excuse to further reduce services to the community. The citizens are defenseless!
Hey, John Rivera is on Ron Book's daughter's guest list for her wedding. It is amusing when names keep popping up over and over and over. Havey Ruvin, you shouldn't go to that wedding. Really, I mean it.
Why not? Rivera serves our political mess real well. If we were a monarchy, he most certainly would have earned a Knighthood by now.
