The SiError club. By Geniusofdespair

Looks like they are having a hard time trying to get people to volunteer to work for free for Sierra Club -- to replace the Florida Chapter Leaders that the National Board threw out when they suspended the Florida Chapter for 4 years. National had to extend their deadline:

NOTE: The deadline for submitting a statement of interest has been extended to Friday, April 18, 2008.
Dear Florida Sierra Club Leaders,
We are reaching out to all current and former Sierra Club leaders in Florida to invite you to offer your time and talent as a member of the new Florida Steering Committee - the body that will have responsibility for handling statewide matters during the period of the Chapter's suspension - or to assist us identifying qualified prospective candidates.

The Steering Committee has been charged with rebuilding and managing statewide Sierra Club functions in Florida, rebuilding trust among volunteer leaders and with the Board and staff, and preparing for a transition to a well-functioning member-elected Florida Chapter leadership. (SNIP)

Really dumb si-Error club!

Why do you assume they're having a "hard time"? And, why is this dumb?

They have extended the time, so they must have had trouble getting suckers to fill the posts. Also, they are dumb because who throws out volunteers. That is lunacy. You just give them different jobs, but you keep them working.

Once again- spending time and precious blog space criticizing environmental groups because they're not perfect instead of trying to save the state of Florida you so often claim to love.

Why should I have to love environmental groups? Have you ever been on one of their boards? Have you ever seen Audbon's Eric Draper speaking on You Tube at the dedication of St. Joe Airport?

For you information, I didn't hate Sierra Club until they disbanded the Florida Chapter. That was a lot of gall on the part of National Sierra. That isn't a case of "not being perfect," that was a purge within my favorite envronmental group where I have friends.

And...since when is blog space precious. I can put drivel up for years until I use up my megabytes.
