Most of the individuals on that list are lawyers, and are required to register as lobbyists. For the most part, they need so many because of the complexity of the application. The non-lawyers in the group are members of FPL's external affairs department. Since they would, or could be involved in meetings with the County, including with staff by the way, not just Commissioners, it is entirely prudent for FPL to register those members in advance. FPL should not be penalized because they register anyone who could engage in lobbying activities throughout this process. In fact, they should be commended. What we really need to worry about are those interests that do not register their lobbyists so that they stay under the cloak of secrecy. That is the real danger.

None of these worry me. But with Florida Plunder and Loot I wait for the other shoe to drop.

A unhappy Cutler Bay Council member asked the city lobbyist to set up an appointment with the Public Service Commission for a discussion about FPL. The response from the lobbyist was less than enthusiastic...turns out the city lobbyist is also a lobbyist for FPL. hmmmmmm.

Probably the same lobbyist we have in North Miami with the same results- nothing
