Did you every notice that bigoted, homophobic, xenophobic letter writers to the Herald are always from Pembroke Pines? What kind of place is that? I got a reader complaint about the absence of the Saturday Speak-up so I put the reader’s comments in the Sunday Speak-up...have to keep our 3 or 4 readers happy.

Thoughts on Osama's Beard
There has been much comment on Osama's recent discursive ramblings – most ending with the question "what's up with the beard?" It appears to be dyed or fake.
Analysts say his ranting against the West reflect his own absorption in western culture. For instance, he must be reading EyeonMiami considering his views on the mortgage crisis. He has time on his hands and is apparently online in his cave.
This certainly accounts for the new tape. I suspect he was worried that Miss Teen U.S.A. contender from South Carolina would steal his audience of "what's wrong with the U.S. and its foreign policy." Not enough maps! If only we had known sooner. What with the world watching youtube he knew he had to regain control of "his" message. Time for a new video. But then he got to thinking…"maybe she'll be watching…"

Not Pembroke Pines. My daughters who are very, very liberal live in Pembroke Pines
I have a family relation who is bigoted and xenophobic to the max and they live in Pembroke Pines because it is so nice! Mostly likely because it is seems so new and clean it appeals to people who are rotten and dirty inside.
I said the HERALD LETTERS always seem to be from Pembroke Pines....It could be the Herald too!
