I wonder if I could find a single Kendall resident who thinks that this community needs more houses and more traffic. What was this council thinking?!? Oh wait nevermind, I was there. Several of them clearly didn't understand the voting process. FOR SHAME..Kendall residents...is this what you voted for?

This is so scary, I can't even begin to say how I feel about this. There was this one guy, Percival, who was against the citizens in the room and against the county too. He was there speaking for the builders, as if their high paid pony boys weren't doing a good enough job of it. I had to leave before I saw that guy in the parking lot. Jesus.

This is the kind of stuff that goes on that leads us to road widening of roads like 104 Street -so some rich guy can build houses in our back yards that we don't need. I just started going to those Community Council meetings. Now I understand why Kendall looks the way it does.

Mr. Percival is/was the VP for the Kendall Homeowners Association. He's also one Commissioner's lacky. He was appointed to the Watershed Study by her and then proceeded to vote for all the high density stuff that was pushed by the so called "consultants" at the end of the "study". That is why the study lost all credibility - even a number of the other appointees got angry(I guess not ALL appointees are given special agendas prior to meetings) and voted ALL of the issues down. This sort of thing goes on in EVERY appointed committee I've ever seen. Certain people are appointed by a Commissioner and...end up trying to steer the process to accomplish the goals they are supposed to push. Not all appointees do this, but you begin to see the pattern easily after attending several different meetings. This seems to be happening with some members on the Charter Committee right now.
You need to join the Kendall Homeowners Association and vote this guy OFF.

one more thing...keep going to the Community Council meetings and make it VERY CLEAR publicly that those Council members are supposed to represent the community's wishes.
If enough of you make noise, you may just be able to "encourage" your "elected" officials to vote for the community instead of development special interests. If not, recall them.

To Pitbull...

Actually, Pitbull, I will take this a step further. Homestead people need to come to CC11 and Kendall people need to go to Homestead meetings. I believe that some synergy can be created from that.

And to the rest of you who do not want to pay a water bill that looks like a car payment -- I suggest you come out to the "wild wild west" to watch over what's going on. Wear a blue shirt (for water)and feel free to comment. When the water rates go up, we're all going to be paying the same rate, no matter who are Community Council members are!
