It is always interesting to check on Lennar.
I found this pullout for Lennar and other production home builders in my Friday Newspaper (4 page double-sided) mostly ads (hit on it to make it larger). Lennar has the best ad and placement in the pullout.
The part I thought most amusing was where the pullout said:
"Homestead lies between Everglades National Park, the largest sub-tropical wilderness in the continental United States, and Biscayne National Park, known for its snorkeling and diving opportunities. A plan is currently in the works to link the two parks with a bike and walking trail, a project that will be a..." bla bla bla.
Pretty disingenuous of Lennar to do a sale's pitch on the back of the environment. They were pushing Florida City Commons on sensitive land on the wrong side of the Urban Development Boundary just a few months ago.
I did a a search of property transfers for the word "Lennar." Fifty five sales were recorded between 7/30/07 and 8/30/07, all sales were tagged with Lennar Homes, LLC. This is not to say they did not make more sales in Miami, under a different Corporate name. I quickly checked 6/30/07 to 7/29/07 and found twenty four property transfers (not including transfers to other developers). Disclaimer: I found this information on the County website. It might not be accurate.

No one is left in Homestead who remembers what was once in the Everglades or Biscayne Bay... it's all just fighting over scraps.
