Looks like Related is writing scary letters, or would this be better characterized as a sarcastic threatening, know-it-all letter? Or is it just a case of: "I have more money for litigation than you have?" You be the judge.
Oh, Jorge, why oh why are you doing this? You are worth 1.2 billion, of course you have more money than a bunch of egg heads. Leave them be. They don't want your massive condo towers to spoil the feeling that for an afternoon people are transported back to another century. They love Vizcaya. And why not, it is the most beautiful place the County doesn't deserve to own.
(I watched the County Commission Meeting on TV that the letter above speaks about, what a bunch of jerks those commissioners are. It seemed like they read someone's playbook - and it was not the Vizcayans).

Letter was sleazy and disgusting. And Jorge Perez was too big a coward to sign it himself.
I saw County Commission meeting as well. Related lobbyists wrote "talking points" for brain dead County commissioners. Don't the County commissioners understand historic properties are worth saving? And don't they read the news? Miami has an oversupply of condos?
What a brilliant idea from our civic leaders "Lets build more unaffordable luxury condos when every economist seems to believe that we are heading into the worst unaffordable luxury condo depression in history." Not only are our political leaders followers they are following a fool of the businessman! (Or at least a businessman who has a plan B that is not in our communities best interest.
When the obcenely (?) rich want to do something, even if it is extremely stupid they do it and pay off (here read bribe) any who they have to. It may not be the brightes (?) thing to oppose them as we the public usually end up spending our money and then losing anyway. In this case I will get a kick out of watching them build this monstrosity and then losing lots of money. Incidentally the very rich bitch (male) who tried to get me for opposing him ended up broke and in trouble with the law. Unfortunatly (?) this is a very rare event and I had a lot of luck.
I am serious George. Why not build a couple of mid rise buildings? It would just make so much more sense and fit in so much better. In a bad market those behemoths are not going to sell...make yours classy but discreet. Your building does not have to yell at us!
