Coconut Grove: Heed the Evil County Commission by Geniusofdespair

Hit on pages to enlarge.

Always ready to aid their pal Jorge Perez, the Miami Dade County Commission voted on this resolution today in an attempt to unfund/stop the Vizcayan lawsuit that is trying to stop the two Perez towers at Mercy Hospital.

Katy Sorenson and Carlos Gimenez voted against this resolution. Even the vile Natacha thought the last sentence was too harsh and asked Souto to take it out. He refused.

See Coconut Grove...I have been telling you, get interested in the County because they will screw you.

Have you noticed Jorge Lopez, a lobbyist who also sits in the City of Miami Zoning Board, speaking in favor of the Related project at both at City Commission and County? Isn't there a conflict or unethical behavior for him to be doing this while he is on the board of trustees for Vizcaya, a fundraiser for Mercy, and a registered lobbyist for the county?

Naw, the man is just a visionary. He went to the Book School of Lobbying.

Lopez was nominated to the Zoning Board after the infamous Mercy votes at City Commission. The only possible conflict would come from the fact that he voted on Mercy, but, he did not vote at the ZB. There is an argument, that since the ZB and Planning Advisory Board are only making recommendations for approval or denial, that a member of the board would be allowed to present his or her opinion. They are not elected officials, and are members of our community.

Gimenez on the right side again! If the rest of the Commission followed his lead, we might be getting some good things done in this County!
