Broward people got robbed. They allowed this gambling - "sin city" - and the revenues have to be shared with the pious up-state people who wouldn't dream of having gambling but have no trouble sharing the wealth. You got scammed Broward people! Curiously, Miami Dade was smarter? Hah, I think not. It is just another one of those unexplainable phenomena (like black holes and how do anti-depressants really work).
Although I didn't vote for the gambling I decided to do a fact finding tour of Gulfstream Park for all of you. Here is a fact: It is very similar to the Miccosukee Casino but without the cigarette smoke.
The good thing: They have a Haagen Daz booth although the cones were pricey. They serve a really cheap buffet during the week $9.95 for the budget minded. There were quite a few budget-minded people eating.
I found just what you would expect on a Monday night: a bunch of little old ladies and others playing the slots in an extremely noisy room. We played a game of pool for free on a very nice regulation sized table in the much quieter Horse betting/poker room (poker area wasn't very large). I can’t imagine being in that noisy slot room for very long but I liked the horse betting area, there were a lot of big screen TV's and comfortable chairs. Okay folks, get gambling, make Broward a pittance!

The gambling made connected people rich...especially those in Broward (weren't State Rep's lobbying for it?)...so the regular people will get poorer.
Did you know there is a State Law that prohibits ATM's at gambling establishments? At least they did something right.
