#Trump and @GOP voters: your thought of the day ... by gimleteye

For Trump and @GOP voters: your thought of the day.  Current carbon dioxide levels are unprecedented in human history and are on track to climb to even more ominous heights in just a few decades.

According to the website, Climate Central: "If carbon emissions continue on their current trajectory, new findings show that by mid-century, the atmosphere could reach a state unseen in 50 million years. Back then, temperatures were up to 18°F (10°C) warmer, ice was almost nowhere to be seen and oceans were dramatically higher than they are now."

This isn't speculation, "fake" science, or conjured by Democrats.

What will you do to oppose a president and his administration and certain Republicans from states like Oklahoma who refuse to accept fact, despite evidence all around us.

Moreover, food price spikes due to climate change are already taking a severe toll around the world. In time, the U.S. will also be impacted. When it comes to climate change, there is no difference between the price people will pay whether they live in Newport RI, Tulsa OK, in Peru or Guatemala. So deal with it, @realDonaldTrump and the @GOP Congress.

The Washington Post reported yesterday, that an analysis of the written record of the dates of cherry blossoms appearing on trees in Kyoto stretches back centuries and reveals an unprecedented trend in early blooming due to rapidly warming temperatures. "The shape of the trend line through the blossom flowering dates resembles a hockey stick — with a flat handle but sharply sloping blade. Indeed, multiple studies documenting temperature changes over the past 1,000 to 2,000 years have taken on a similar shape, reflecting a relatively stable climate through the mid-1800s, and a quickly warming one ever since." That's the same "hockey stick" shape that Republicans ridiculed Al Gore for highlighting in his documentary, "An Inconvenient Truth".

The incuriosity of the GOP on climate change is a disaster for Americans and for the world that expects American leadership based on science and fact. That's why so many millions of Americans call the #Trump administration a #runawaytrain. The way to bring a runaway train under control? GOP, it is up to you.

I'll tell them:
it was the economy back then ,stupid.
New breaking inventions where suppose to fix all our problems. Aka vaporware.
How could we have known, the end times would not materialize and transport the righteous in to nirvana.
If we only could have burned some more coal, to fix things and make us proud again.
Not enough people supported the second amendment.
I did not do it, it was Them.
Not enough tax breaks for our illustrious financial leaders.
You did not expect me to walk to work, be cold in winter, and sweat in summer, do you?
Did you expect me to eat worms instead of file Mignon.
Halve our gov leadership said don't worry, global warming is for sissy's.
You expected us to plan more then five Years ahead of time?

I could keep this up for awhile.

Grandchildren? My adult child and I actively talk about the foolishness of having children at this point in time. It's sad, but I don't want to see my grandchildren facing the next 80 years on this earth.

I do not understand how society can sit back and let the government choose to censor words like "climate change". Really? How is this not heading towards a dictatorship?

This is really going to be one of those periods in history where future generations look back and think, didn't they see warning signs? Why did they allow this to occur?

Can anyone else think of a society where words were censored? How did that work out for them?

For the life of me, I can't figure out why someone like him would even aspire to be president. It is a very humbling position, with an enormous number of very humbling experiences. Everyday there are fundamental decisions about the lives of millions of people, and the preservation of our home, the earth. He doesn't seem to care about either of these. Instead he is focused on stupid stuff.

If you were serious you would ask Annette Taddeo to hop on board. That 0-10 record of hers could be a plus for the Democrats.
