State Campaign Contributions by Casino/Gaming. By Geniusofdespair

Erik Fresen's Pac Floridians for a Strong 67 Got $2,500 10/3 from Isle of Capri Casinos, Inc. he also spent $3,000 from his PAC for consulting by Esther Nuhfer -- you will remember her as David Rivera's BFF. Fresen also got a donation to his campaign from Genting. State Senators Greg Evers and Ritch Workman got a donation from gaming. Democrat State Senator Bill Montford took in $500 from Genting -- they call it "Entertainment". Dorothy Hukill a Republican Senator also took in $500 from Genting. Senator John Thrasher took in a few donations from Gaming as did Ellyn Bogdanoff. Shame on Oscar Braynon, he took a donation from Genting and Isle of Capri Casinos. State Senator Eleanor Sobel, another Dem, took in 3 casino contributions including Genting. Senator Miguel Diaz de la Portilla has a Genting and 2 others casino donations. Senator Anitere Flores has a couple of gaming donations.

State Rep. Cynthia A. Stafford has a Genting contribution and a couple of Gaming. Rep. Deborah Mayfield has a Kennel Club donation. Democratic State Rep. Mackenson Bernard has 3 including Genting. Gayle Bauer Harrell got money from the Palm Beach Kennel Club. They are big donors.

I didn't look at them all, but about half of the ones I looked at had a gambling related donation. Looks like Genting is friendly to the Democrats I guess to counteract the Republican bible thumpers in Tallahassee.

Here's a nice story on Fresen's new consultant, the former Mrs. Shiver: http://blog.reidreport.com/2011/02/friends-with-benefits-david-riveras-favorite-consultant-nabbed-817000-in-fees/

Rivera was a master at turning gambling support into personal wealth, including a half-million to his mom. Esther is a great comfort to the legislators who slave away for us in Tallahassee. Hope Erik gets his money's worth.

An intelligent analysis of campaign contributions will show that both pro and anti casino gaming groups contribute to both Rs and Ds.

Yes, but they are usually ignored as the Republicans usually can pull it off without any Dems. I am surprised two Dems, that I usually trust, voted for this bad deal the other day in Committee:

Oscar Braynon and Nan Rich

How about Rudy crew's favorite school board member ana Rivas Logan. Now in the state house and on the first committee for genting, she receives the prize for the most funds raised by gaming. On 11/04 alone she raised over $8,ooo from friends of gambling. I wonder how she'll vote. Norman Braman will make her regret her ties and run someone against her. Bye bye Annie.
