Raul Martinez is politically finished. By Geniusofdespair

Just like Maurice Ferre, it is time for Raul Martinez to hang out with the grandchildren. Just be sure not to mentor any young politicians Raul - we all know about your last mentee Julio Robaina.

The PAC numbers are out and Raul Martinez's "Fiscal Responsibility Now" had a total of $123,200 in the last reporting for a total of $231,800 collected. That is in addition to what he had in his official campaign report (don't have that) running for Hialeah Mayor. The PAC was run by his former secretary Mabel Mizrahi. The Florida Democratic party gave $5,000 to this PAC. Shame on them for getting involved in a non-partisan race. John and Stephen Brunetti were the big losers, between them they gave $65,000 to the PAC.

With all the money he had, the once invincible Martinez couldn't make a dent in Carlos Hernandez's machine losing by 6,816 votes.

The new Mayor is Raul except a little shorter, like Roboina was Raul but a lot fatter. They are all cut from the same cloth in Hialeah. Skirting the law for sport and financial gain.

While there were many in Hialeah who voted for Mayor Carlos Hernandez, there were just as many votes for Rudy Garcia and Raul Martinez. The truth is that residents were highly divided, most of them stayed home and the absentee ballots were out of control (voter fraud, absentee ballot fraud and abuse of the elderly, and the State Attorney does nothing) - that's how elections are won nowadays.

Former Mayor Raul Martinez is far more intelligent than Hernandez or Robaina, and proved to be a good administrator, but he remained mayor of Hialeah for way too long, the problems he had in the 1990's follow him, but worse is that he allowed too many zoning and land use changes occur under his watch that hurt our neighborhoods and he allowed us to lose Hialeah Park.

If he could, on his own, correct either of these, then he could rise again. But . . . I will leave it at that. And this, of course, is only my humble opinion.

Like all politicians that begin with a civic duty bag of ideologies they succumb to the power. The deadly sins that following them are more destructive to their community than to them!
My humble opinion: Hear ye Hear Ye another Wicked Scumbag is dead!
Perhaps the Real Raul will return one day and apologize.

Maybe he'll come clean and repent all you humbles. He'll write a book like some do and lay down
all the misgivings he threw upon the voters. Wonder what the title of his book would be?

We'll let the bloggers title it!!
