It is a tragedy that Britto's work wasn't to be found at Art Basel. Why no Britto at those fancy collectors? I think it is an insult to the local community and Britto the Miami icon. Why can't art lovers unite behind him. He's a fun artist and next year I recommend a Britto sculpture right at the entrance of the Miami Beach Convention Center. Let's send all those visitors a message about the REAL Miami!
It is NOT a tragedy that Brito wasnt at Art Basel. Brito is not an ARTIST. At best he is a stylist or a decorator. He doesnt even do his own work. He hires "helpers" with zero art experience. He even avoids using aspiring artists in painting his work for him because its so simple. I might call him a decorator.

You got it --- now why is it there, what is the significane and why isn't there a Britto, everyplace in Miami has a garish Britto.
God I hate Britto. He's just TOO overexposed. And besides, Xavier Cortada is 50 million times BETTER!
