Commissioner Spence-Jones are you in trouble? By Geniusofdespair

Michelle, ma Belle, These are words that go together well: payoff my Michelle!

According to sharp-as-a-tack reporter, Oscar Pedro Musibay, of the Daily Business Review: Related Group Project Subject of Inquiry.

It’s those three pesky Related Group towers at Mercy Hospital once again. They do keep themselves in the news don’t they? Apparently Commissioner Michelle Spence-Jones is accused of receiving money for her yes vote on those 3 dumb, out of scale towers.

According to the article, State Attorney Rundle said her office has launched a review:

”...investigators are examining whether City Commissioner Michelle Spence-Jones received money from the developer, Related Group, through intermediaries to guarantee her support.”

The article states further:

“Prosecutors are looking into possible roles played by Spence-Jones; her political mentor, former County Commission chairwoman Barbara Carey-Schuler; and Spence-Jones campaign adviser Barbara Hardemon, according to sources familiar with the investigation.”

Alicia Schreiber is someone to watch, she was a good buddy of a former county manager.

Another article showing why, if the NAACP wants to rise up against something, it should rise up against the terrible leadership in the African American community itself. The old guard cut its deals with the power brokers for their place at the sow's tit, whether at the city or county doesn't matter--it's all the same tit to feed on.

Power U, Workers Center: put your candidates up. Run against corruption in your own community: Poinciana Biotech Park, Carver Housing, the county housing agency, "affordable housing" scams.

Something has to change...

No wonder Spence-Jones has been suffering from anxiety attacks.

Alicia Cuervo was able to secure two public meetings in the same month for related for this project, when that was never before allowed.. She was still acting as City Assitant Manager when she made that call, and then she left to work with Related... That does not pass the smell test...

Now we learn Alicia Cuervo and Joe Arriola are trying to avoid being deposed. Who took money from Related? What did they do for the money? And did any money get funneled back to Michelle Spence-Jones?

Did anyone read the Herald Thursday? Spence-Jones stated she did not know her two best friends were taking money from Related? She did not know her "godmothers" were taking money? Anyone believe that?

It is a hard thing to prove.

I am told this is how it works. Commissioners never take money themselves. They designate a third party where money can be passed: A Bag Man. The bag man or woman then give a cut to the Commissioner. Unless a bagman sings...it is hard to get a Commisssioner.

Geniusofdespair said...

I sound like a criminal, talking about bag men...too bad I am talking about our government.

But if a developer sings, he can only bring down the bagman. He can't prove the commissioner actually got anything.

So who really got the money?
Manny who is the hand in the puppet or Michelle the moron?
Or did they just split it?

Anonymous said...

Maybe we will get lucky and they all paid themselves with checks?

Or maybe Michelle Spence-Jones's bag women i.e. "godmothers" did not report the money from Related?
Maybe they paid Spence-Jones and took a tax deduction? We should get so lucky?

Welcome to Miami. Leave your wallets at the door.

let me ask this, ... the vehement support by spence jones of the umoja site... could this be linked in to any overzealous interest of developers of that site??

Answer me this, who has Heat season tickets right next to former City Manager Joe Arriola (by the way, Joe Arriola brought in both Alicia Cuervo and Mary Conway, he may be asking for immunity soon in order to testify against not only Michelle, but the Mayor as well).

having been here in Miami for a while now, I can smell that this one is going to be bad... I think there's legs to this story. anyone else feel it?

Spence-Jones was vehemently supporting the City giving public land to the leader of the Uymoya squatters. He had no experience and no net worth and the local neighbors hated the squatters. But Spence-Jones wanted to make him the gift.

Spence-Jones should have been happy being an elected official and making $76,000 approx. per year. ($57,000 salary and $25,000 perks)

Why did she treat the taxpayers as rubes? As "a source of funds"?

What a disappointment.

likr everything else. Nothing will come of this.

Fernandez-Rundel and Carey-Shuler are very close.

I thought is strange a-ways back when Alicia's name popped up in the Herald about this. I thought she was still was with the city, but I guess she knew she was worth more than a city salary.

What is with Shubin and Bass?

Anonymous said...

Shubin & Bass used to represent the little guy. They helped neighborhood associations. Recently they switched sides. Now they too are on the dark side.

Related writes checks to people who can get them influence and votes.

What a shame 3 commissioners did not vote based on facts. We are lucky we have Sarnoff and Regalado.

Spense-Jones only changed her mind to support the Umoja activists once she knew Ron was going to axe the deal. She was not an early supporter of the Umoja Village people at all. Look at the history.

The leadership of the black community did/does nothing to support the Umoja Village because they see them as a threat to their power and corrupt control of getto funding in the county.

It's a shame about Shubin. But there's college tuition to think about.

Geniusofdespair said...

Shubin and many others, the darksiders.

They once walked on the wild side with us, they now walk on the darkside with THEM. F--K tuition. You have to have some ethical grounding or you are no better than a piece of shit. Are you listening Miguel, Crystal, Kathy S. et al.

Any comments about Related paying money to Spence-Jones's bagladies, excuse me "godmothers"? Hardemon and Carey-Schuler? Any comments on splits?

Any other allegations of Spence-Jones selling her vote?

If Alicia Cuervo recently left the city to work for Related, isn't she under some sort of restrictions from lobbying her former colleagues?
